Welcome to the VeSPA Project

VeSPA stands for Versatile Simulation, Pulses and Analysis.

VeSPA is a set of three magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) software applications called Simulation, RFPulse and Analysis. These powerful tools are for magnetic resonance (MR) spectral simulation, MR RF pulse design, and spectral processing and analysis of MR data.

The VeSPA package enhances and extends three previously developed MRS software tools (GAVA/GAMMA, Matpulse, IDL_Vespa) by migrating them into an integrated, open source, and open development platform.

These applications can be run separately and can also communicate among themselves via a shared database of objects and results. One example of inter-application sharing will be that Simulation can make use of an RF pulse designed in the RFPulse application to create a more realistic MR simulation.

Thanks to the NIH (grant number 1R01EB008387-01A1) which funded the maintenance and extension of these separate applications into a combined environment based entirely on the Python language.
