The license for our code, documentation, etc. is a BSD license, specifically a "three-clause" BSD license (to distinguish it from the older and slightly more restrictive four-clause BSD license).

The license text is below, or you can use the attached file which contains the same text. It's been formatted so that it can be added to a file as a Python comment (with "# " preceding every line) and still fit in the 79-column limit recommended by PEP 8. Please don't break that.
